Since 2012, I’ve been providing translations and linguistic consultancy for the music industry, cultural organisations and art galleries in Northern Italy. I also work with journalists, university researchers, online magazines and local organisations. Agency work includes financial institutions, national and international companies such as: Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, American Airlines, American Express, Alfa Romeo, Hertz, Red Cross, Siemens, Honeywell, Herbalife, Ferrero, The Islands of Tahiti
Software used: CAT Tools - Trados Studio 2015 and OmegaT.
The benefits of these programs, which allow completed translations to be stored and accessed, are two-fold. First, retrieved terminology is already defined ensuring consistency of terminology and style within the same text. Second, this stored data can be used for similar work that the same customer may commission in the future, lending your projects an overall professional cohesion. My daily output is ~ 3000 words, but I am willing to do more or less than that based on your project.

The way a document reads affects the way others judge it; careless errors and pedantic structures will distract readers from its message and reflect poorly on you.
Proofreading and editing involve checking and correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence and paragraph structure and readability. If you have a preferred style guide which you apply to all your documents, I’ll ensure your documents remain compatible.

For those looking for creative copywriting, I am also available for Transcreation work. Drawing on my linguistic and creative skills, I can produce short and long original texts to help your products and ideas get noticed. My technical, cultural and artistic competences give me the capability to work in any field with music, entertainments, events, culture, advertisement and tourism being my specialties. This service is not only limited to written material but extends to audio-visual as well, ready for promotion on private and popular platforms and networks.

Copywriting
Subtitling films and videos is an art, apart from grammar and spelling, a good sense of timing, on-screen spatial awareness and subtitle lengths are necessary. The most important skill of all is the ability to translate 'cultural gaps’ (local references, idioms, jokes, etc.); having specialised in this form of translation for my Master’s degree, I am both passionate and skilled in this particular field.
Software used: Aegisub, Subtitle Workshop and InqScribe, but I am available to work on platforms such as Amara or other required software.
The more people you can reach, the greater audience you can build. Multi-media has fully integrated itself into our everyday lives; give yourself a stronger presence by adding subtitles to your videos and films or captions for deaf and hard of hearing audiences.

Transcriptions

"Verba volant, scripta manent" - Words fly away, writing remains.
An increasingly requested task is transctriprion work. Whether it is an audio or video recording from a conference, presentation or interview, transcribing can help you by allowing you to reach viewers who are hard of hearing (law requirements for TV), provide audiences who want/need to watch videos with original language subtitles or simply extend your outreach to a larger, global audience. Good listening, understanding and grammatical skills are essential to transcription work, but to get the best results also requires a sense of timing, mood and subtleties to truly capture the meaning of what's being said; I can deliver on both fronts.
I transcribe from Italian, English and Spanish and can provide you with reliable, accurate transcriptions for adaptive, edited, verbatim and with translation forms. I work with subtitles and voice-overs as well, and can submit work with time-codes for easy reference for seamless integration into your own project.
For transcriptions I mainly use the software InqScribe and Adobe Audition to work on audio files; I'm also experienced in the software Amara, which is standard for embedded YouTube videos. I accept any kind of audio and video format and can convert it to other formats. In addition to the transcription work, I can also clean up noisy audio files, assemble them from different sources and equalise and/or master them to obtain the greatest clarity for optimal results.
